A.B.L.E Charity Run

[By Charmaine Au]

Has this semester been getting the best of you with its demanding schedule? How long has it been since you last kept your fitness in check? If you are only just aware of the weight of this realization settling on you, fret not!

Mission ABLE is back with the ABLE Charity Run, following the massive success of the MPA Charity Run last year. Mission ABLE is a charity month project organised by the scholars’ community, Scholars@Work of Taylor’s University. The word ‘ABLE’ is in fact, an acronym for ‘Aspiring Better Lives Everyday’.

Mission ABLE 2016 hopes to raise public awareness regarding the needs of people with different abilities in our community. The proceeds from the ABLE Charity Run will be channelled to Persatuan Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Kajang Selangor (PKIK) to fund the building of their new shelter to accommodate more children in need.

So put on your running shoes and run – not just for yourself, but also for charity. Each participant will receive a finisher medal, a T-shirt, a certificate of participation, and a goodie bag. Furthermore, scholars will be able to clock in 5 hours, and if you are a SHINE Award Student, you can claim 40 points just by participating! In short, you have nothing to lose save for some extra calories.

This is a great opportunity to catch up with them as you take a breather before getting back to your studies and assignments. As they say, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. We look forward to see you there!
