Managed by Taylor’s University’s Student Development Hub, the Student Life Centre (SLC) is an avenue for Taylorians to experience their campus life out of the norms of a classroom.
With the intention of nurturing students, the Student Life Centre was constructed to provide Taylorians with the necessary capabilities to fulfil the demands of the ever-rising competitive workplace. Refurbished and upgraded to further enhance its quality, the new and improved Student Life Centre is now reopened for all, from 9am until 6pm, Mondays to Fridays. The new and improved Student Life Centre is the perfect platform for students to make use of its key features for discussions, meetings and brainstorming of ideas that promotes a positive and healthy campus lifestyle.
The Discussion Hubs at the Student Life Centre provides an avenue for students to engage in active discussions, plan activities and hold meetings relevant to their curricular and extra-curricular activities. Working on an assignment or a tutorial assignment? Head on over to the Hotspot Area for a more self-directed learning approach. The Discussion Hubs and the Hotspot Areas are yours for the using for a maximum of 2 hours, to enable everyone to fully utilise this shared facility.
Some may notice that a section of the SLC is curtained off – curious? Push those aside and you will find The Event Zone, a place for students to have group presentations, seminars, activities and talks. Operating from 6pm to 10 pm from Mondays to Fridays, the Event Zone caters for a limited capacity of 30 pax and is open to all. Those who wish to book a place at the Event Zone are required to do so by reservation 14 days before the event date.
The Student Life Centre is also a platform for networking and exchanging ideas and knowledge between the diverse communities present in Taylor’s University. The Global Networking Lounge does exactly just that, offering students with a place to communicate, network and form new friendships.
With the construction of Student Leaders Offices, students from the Student Council and International Student Council as well as Community Services Initiatives Volunteers can now enjoy the privilege of carrying out their responsibilities in an office specially allocated to them by Taylor’s University. These offices will serve as a workstation as well as a consultation room. Last but not least is the Student Leaders Room, which will be utilised by Student Organisation Leaders as their working room for meetings and meaningful action where ideas can be ignited to celebrate achievements.
Anyone is welcome to enter the SLC and be a part of the student campus life. If you haven’t had the time to visit the place yet, be sure to drop by and have a look real soon!
