Captain America: The Winter Soldier came out at the end of last month and I had the opportunity to catch it at the cinema last week. The movie was mostly about action, conspiracy and apparently, lots and lots of shaky cam. I will try my best not to include any spoilers.

Captain America starts off soon after where the Avengers movie ended, where Cap (Steve Rogers) is still with S.H.I.E.L.D., Black Widow (Natasha Romanoff) is his partner, and Hawkeye (Clint Barton) is nowhere to be seen (I assume that he is off on a super-secret mission, as with S.H.I.E.L.D., everything would be super-secret). The main plot centers around a conspiracy that starts running loose within S.H.I.E.L.D., and our heroes have no idea who is bad or good. One thing is for sure is that the story definitely capitalizes the existing post-9/11 tension in the U.S. between a person’s freedom and their security.

Besides the returning cast, the gang is joined by a new member, Falcon (Samuel Wilson) played by Anthony Mackie. Not forgetting the return of one of the Cap’s friend which you can find out by watching the movie. As mentioned above, their cinematography included lots and lots of shaky camera footage and I know this from a friend’s constant reminder while watching the movie. The CGIs were borderline good and the accompanying music scores fitted in nicely.

Overall, Captain America: The Winter Soldier was not bad in comparison to other comic book action movie. However, you should watch it if you’re into Marvel superhero movies.

Sorry for being picky. And it’s just a small mistake. But as a hardcore fan of Captain America, the name of Chris Evans in the movie is actually spelled as “Steve Rogers” without the “D” and Black Widow’s name is actually “Natasha Romanoff”. Hope it could be corrected since its kind of the names their respected creators came up with. So I think it should be followed correctly as to respect the creators creation. Thank you and btw nicely written review article that doesn’t spoil people too much 😀
