Do you find yourself singing in the shower? Have you ever jammed to your favorite songs? Do you play a musical instrument? Do you love performing?
If you answered “yes” to either of the questions above, then consider joining the ‘Open Mic Night’, hosted by our very own Taylor’s Universities’ Music Club! The event is happening on 4th April at the Experimental Theater (Taylor’s Lakeside University) from 6-9pm. Registrations start at 4pm.
Though if you do prefer watching, all you will need is RM3 to enter; this event is on a first come first serve basis, so do come early! You can use this opportunity to relax yourselves from the long week of classes and assignments, while supporting your friends and other budding artists.
The main purpose of the Open Mic Night is to provide a platform for students and musicians to showcase and share their music with the public. Another good news for all you musicians is that there might be a possibility that talent scouts will attend the event to recruit fresh talents!
You will have the freedom to choose either to perform an acoustic set or with a full band, although acoustic sets are preferred. Performers are given a 15 minutes slot and there are no restrictions of which genre or language of the music you want to perform. So if you’re a heavy metal or country music junkie, rock on! The music club will be providing amps, keyboards and microphones but performers are advised to bring their own musical instrument(s).
If you are interested in taking part or have any question, you can contact Kay Lee at 010-9434075.
Further updates and changes will be announced on their events page.
